“To my mind, the greatest reward and luxury of travel is to be able to experience everyday things as if for the first time, to be in a position in which almost nothing is so familiar it is taken for granted.” – Bill Bryson
Born and raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and enjoying travel within the country from an early age, I fostered a real love for the continent of my birth and an insight into the nuances that make it so spectacular.
When finished with High School I was unclear with how to proceed with my future and so took a year off to travel and work overseas. I ventured to England where I lived and worked a variety of jobs which enabled me to travel to some neighboring countries and enjoy different people, places, cultures, and food.
It was while here that I decided that the Travel Industry might be the way to go as there was nothing more exciting to me than visiting new places, meeting new people, and creating fantastic memories to last a lifetime, and how wonderful it would be to be able to help others enjoy the same.

I returned home and achieved top honors in my travel studies for which I was awarded a week-long visit to Zimbabwe and an introduction to the industry with Wild Africa Safaris, a company run by a neighbor of mine.
From here I gained valuable experience before accepting a position with Wilderness Safaris, one of the leading African safari operators and my experience with them was instrumental in shaping my skills and expertise. Naturally I enjoyed time in Botswana, Namibia, Zimbabwe and more with them before my journey continued and took me across the mighty Atlantic to the United States and the shores of Lake Michigan in Illinois.
Moving to the United States was a giant leap of faith and about embracing uncertainty with the hope that it would lead to new opportunities and personal growth, and it did. It is after this move that I established Eyes on Africa (now Adventure) and took my love for Africa across borders.
Travel is an absolute passion of mine and there is honestly nothing more satisfying than knowing you have had a hand in creating a life changing experience for someone. It inevitably begins with the words “this is a once in a lifetime trip” and always ends up being life changing, spiritual and the best vacation of their lives, and best of all, the first of many return visits!

I am incredibly blessed to have met so many wonderful people in my life and career who have helped shape who I am and what EOA is and has become – this includes the local staff, camp owners, company directors and each one of our guests who ends up becoming a friend. Some guests have travelled with us each year for 10+ years and all return with a renewed passion and sense of self and cannot wait to tell their friends and colleagues about how they too, can have this incredible experience – there is no greater compliment that makes the hard work all worthwhile.
When not working on the next great adventure for guests or travelling to explore and discover new hidden gems, I am a mom to a now college age son and a lady who enjoys quality time with friends and those nearest and dearest to my heart! Hiking, the great outdoors, wildlife and nature in general are what lift my spirits and renew my soul.
“One way to get the most out of life is to look upon it as an adventure” - William Feather
