We specialize in adventure travel, eco-tourism and natural world destinations. Whatever your special interest, we have something that will meet your needs.
So why choose us?
Eyes on Adventure has a number of key advantages when it comes to organizing and booking the ultimate safari or journey:
Variety
We have service providers all over the world; contacts that we know and trust to give our clients an experience that exceeds their expectations. These are scattered throughout Africa, Central and South America, and Asia, which allows us to extend our tendrils deep into the countries therein. So, whether you are traveling to India for your honeymoon, the Seychelles for a summer vacation, Brazil for business, or Uganda to meet the gorillas, you can rest assured that we know the destination and we have top-notch service providers to cater to your needs.
We Do the Work
We tailor packages to suit you, your group, your dreams and your budget. So, no matter what you want to do and where you want to do it, we will design an adventure that is just right for you. We do all of the research, put together a comprehensive itinerary for you, make enquiries, provide necessary information and include plenty of details to prepare you for your getaway. The only thing we don’t do is pack your bags.
Knowledge and Experience
We are specialists; we only sell destinations that we know intimately and we only deal with service providers that we trust. We work hard to maintain a high standard in the experiences that we offer and were, as a result, selected Most Knowledgeable Regional Expert for Southern Africa and Safaris by National Geographic Traveler Magazine, 20th Anniversary Special Issue.
What we have learned over the years has proved invaluable, and we want our clients to benefit from it. Most other travel agents (even those working for massive corporate clients) have not spent much time in the destinations that they offer. Even those that have visited them get the packages designed just for them – the ones that are all about filling more beds more nights of the year. We are different. We want to get a real feel of a destination and then share its magic with our clients.
Passion
We have chosen destinations that touched us, resonated with us deep inside; because we feel strongly that they will have the same effect on our clients. Our passion fuels our confidence and our desire to create something special that touches the client to their core.
Personal Connection
We consider our clients to be a part of our family here at Eyes on Adventure. We get to know them and what is important to them in terms of travel, and we forge close bonds with them as they soon trust us to organize the holiday of a lifetime for them and their families. It’s important to us that we are not just another faceless agency. We care and we are committed to creating something really extraordinary for each client.
Security
Your funds are protected and reserved until the day you actually travel. Eyes on Adventure is a registered corporation in the state of Illinois. We comply with the statutes of Illinois requiring great care to protect passenger trip payments. Illinois statute requires that we do not spend our clients’ deposits until they travel.
Please note that clients are not immune to any published deposit forfeiture due to cancelation for any reason, our terms and conditions still apply. It is for this reason that we strongly urge our clients to purchase travel insurance. However, should a client have to cancel and a refund is due, the refund is available immediately.
Eyes on Africa is a member of the American Society of Travel Agents (member #900143776), or ASTA. ASTA is recognized as a symbol of professionalism and integrity in the travel industry. ASTA is the professional affiliation most often endorsed by the media when recommending the best way to find a reliable travel agent. Eyes on Adventure adheres to ASTA's strict code of ethics.
Price / Value
We pass along our savings to you to ensure that you not only get the holiday of a lifetime, but you also get it for the same cost, or even less, than when booking directly with airlines, operators, and accommodation providers. You do not pay us extra on our services. Rather, we add our markup to already-discounted prices with our trusted providers, and pass the net savings along to you, our guests. The added advantage of having to do none of the research, booking, communiqué and planning, while having an experienced and passionate travel agent on hand to answer questions, is invaluable.
Our trips have no hidden costs or nasty surprises. So often, travelers get surprised by agencies’ additional fees for something halfway through the trip, or transport that they didn’t expect to have to take. When we quote on an adventure, practically everything (except gratuities, personal purchases and, perhaps, imported liquors) is included in the cost. We will always inform you up front about any additional costs.
Finally, be assured that we only work with the most reputable tour operators and properties available. We do not attempt to offer cut-rate pricing for a lesser quality experience to attract guests; rather, we strive to offer the best value, no matter the level of pricing or luxury, and we only work with partners who offer such a value.
Photography
One of our owners, James, a keen wildlife and nature photographer, also leads some of our Photo Workshops and he is available to offer his experience and advice on capturing images during your adventure. For most travelers, bringing home memorable and high-quality photos and videos is very important. We encourage our guests to take full advantage of James’ photographic expertise and skills.
Over his many trips, James has learned what works and what doesn't. He knows what equipment is required and what is not worth packing and carrying around. If you have a question, it’s almost a certainty that he has tried it already and can help. We encourage everyone to read James’ write-up on photography and feel free to contact us with all of your questions.
Conservation and Education
Eyes on Africa actively supports and works directly with environmental conservation organizations like the African Wildlife Foundation, Save the Rhino Trust, and the Botswana Wild Dog Research Project to help protect the Africa we so love. As we continue to expand into the rest of the world, we add to our list of worthy organizations and encourage our clients to do the same, if they want to help.
We are also proud supporters of Children in the Wilderness, an organization dedicated to helping children whose lives have been disrupted by life threatening conditions such as illness, poverty and the HIV/Aids epidemic. The programs aim is to host children, aged between 8 and 17 years, in groups of up to 30 at a time, in wilderness settings for periods of up to a week, free of charge. The well structured curriculum is offered in a safe wildlife environment where nature becomes the teacher and the healer, aided by vetted and well-trained counselors with immense all-round life skills.
Please feel free to contact us if you have an interest in participating in or contributing to one of the conservation programs currently underway in Southern Africa.
